Short story acceptance

Just to let you know that I’ve had a new short story accepted for publication in an exciting and interesting anthology … and that’s all I can say for now (until contracts are sorted and I have permission for disclosure).

However as I realise that your disappointment in knowing no-more may leave in your tangible pain I am going to treat you, my dear readers and whet your appetite with a snippet from said, newly accepted, short story coming soon to an anthology near you:

“He counted at the loose change piled up in front of him, frowning as it stuck to the old, stale beer on the once proud wood, and tried to make it total the price of just one, more drink; any drink, he wasn’t fussy.”

Exclusive interview with artist Len Peralta

Len Peralta is not only an amazing artist, the talent behind Geek-A-Week, Monster by Mail, 50 vs. 50, and the wonderful children’s illustrated book, ‘There’s a zombie in my treehouse’, but also a very nice and funny man too as I found out when I spoke to him for Following The Nerd.

Now, how do FTN go about getting on the Geek-A-Week cards?

Len can we found at his own website, on Facebook and Twitter

Following The Nerd Podcast #17

Here’s the latest Following The Nerd radio show, now as an easily downloaded podcast if you missed it live: “The children of the night, what sweet music they make.”

This week Marc, Bash and me talk about, among the things, Simon Pegg’s meanness and fixation with Lego, the upcoming sequel to Twins, Triplets (no, really – Bash has an unhealthy fascination with this), we discover it’s quite ok to have a man crush on Timothy Dalton and that his Bond is a ‘grower’.

We chat to Stuart from The Monday Movie Show podcast about movies and why we’re all so hopeflessly addicted.

Marc has a rant about Keith Lemon: The Film and why it has destroyed his confidence in Nerds, Uncle George’s Red Tails gets a UK release and we convince you why you have to see it. Staying in history, we chat about the iceberg that sank the Titanic – it was built in Belfast, y’know – and we get into remakes and classic movies Highlander, The Mummy and we even try to decipher the ending of Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes. And we talk about the best trailer of 2012 so far: Seth McFarlane’s Ted.

And that’s all just in the first hour.

So join in and Nerd out!
